Try to link the letter to an issue that
the newspaper has covered recently, or to an event in the media.
However, many small market community papers are happy to have Letters to the
Editor on nearly any issue you choose to write on.
Give credit where credit is due:
don't be afraid to congratulate a good editorial, or a recent decision by
an elected official or company that is socially progressive.
Alwayssign your name
(or, with email, write it in full) and provide a daytime telephone number
and address.
